Welcome to My World
LDS authors, seems like there's one on every corner--kind of like LDS chapels--in Utah. So what do I have to say that hasn't already been said? Well for one thing, "Damp wool sprocket inundate, permanent marker tape worm, moldy tarp persona." I'll bet Gerald Lund and Jack Weyland never said that. Okay if that doesn't do it for you, how about the fact that as far as I know I am the only author to have a character in my book pull a gun on his home teacher. Or that in addition to my LDS writing I also write supernatural thrillers? Hooked? No? Well keep reading anyway.
By way of background, I have published three novels. Cutting Edge, a high-tech thriller was my first. Into the Fire, my second novel was a drama set in the High Sierras. My newest novel, House of Secrets--A Shandra Covington Mystery, is coming out the first of next week. All three novels were published through Covenant Communications, www.covenant-lds.com. Both of my first two novels sold well, so of course it took me almost three years to get my next book out. But I'll get to that in a later post.
Tonight I am attending the second annual Covenant Mystery Dinner. It's kind of a fun night where Covenant authors and readers get together for dinner and a mystery. The parts are played by Covenant authors and employees. The mystery was written by the wonderful author Kerry Lynn Blair. Then tomorrow I'm doing signings in Provo and Spanish Fork. After three years without doing signings, I'm actually kind of nervous.
Wish me luck, and if you want to show up, the signings are at the Provo Seagull from 12:15 to 1:45 and the Spanish Fork Seagull from 4:15 to 5:30. I let you know how they go.
